Boulder Gardens/Babcock Falls – DAY HIKE

June 7, 2024

Boulder Gardens

This route leads onto the southeast slops of Mount Babcock, passing through a landscape of towering rock pinnacles. It passes through an other-worldly landscape strewn with rock pillars, slabs, and boulders. The route climbs gently to Boulder Tarn, a small lake nestled in between the bluffs. The pancake rocks area has larger boulders with thing beds of sandstone.

2-3 Hours/4KM Return

Rating: Moderate, steep and rocky in places.

Babcock Falls

A short trail leads through pine forests and wetlands to 8 Metre high Babcock Falls.  Some unique wetland flowers are found along the trail. The developed trail ends overlooking the falls, but a short steep path leads to the pool right at the base of the falls, which are formed from a lip of resistant sandstone. A permanent rope has been installed to help hikes on this section. Fossilized logs can be found in these rocks, especially around one small overhand with a good view of the falls.

1-2 Hours/2KM Return

Rating: Easy

Mt. Spieker

Elevation Gain: 330 M (1085 ft)

Guiding is about taking care of people in the mountains. It’s about teaching people new skills, and guiding them deep in the wild miles away from your average trail. My mission is to provide an unforgettable wilderness experience for all our clients. I have created these events in Northern, BC to inspire people to enjoy the mountains the best way I know how in the Northern Rockies. I feel honoured to show people how to gear up and head in the wild for a couple days or even weeks at a time. These events are to be filled with inspiration for others to get outside and to show them they’re more than capable of enjoying the great outdoors, as well as giving them the survival tips needed to enjoy them in the wild and stay safe. Our clients are the focus of this company.
