We’ve gained quite a few new followers on social media!

I thought it was time to introduce myself to you all. My name is Jocelyn McDonald. I have a beautiful son named Wylder James, where you'll notice WYLD is spelt like this in our name because of him. He's 3 and in full toddler mode. It's been a WYLD ride, and he's like me and hates being inside, which makes running a business hard with the back-end work. Especially when it's just the two of us most of the time.

I started this company in 2016. It started as personal training that turned into retreats as quickly as it got started. You'll notice I say we but it's just me behind the scenes but we have quite an awesome crew on the ground this year for you all. I'm the doer of all jobs when it comes to this company which gets heavy sometimes. Permits, accounting, and everything in between that takes a business to run. A fun fact about the business is I started our big Wokkpash trip with my best friend around the dinner table with some drinks, and now it's turned into something I NEVER thought it would be. We both just wanted to go in there and thought why not bring some new friends? It's grown into things I didn't even know existed. Making this business one of the firsts in Northern, BC for tours. I've learned a lot throughout the years that feels like a lifetime of knowledge. Now we guide all over BC doing multiple trips a year!

I've guided over 750+ people now in the bush! To me that is amazing and mind-blowing that we could show all of you what we do best and that's seeing a view with some pretty rad people. I never thought our idea would be this today. It's because of you all that I get to stay at home with Wyld man and do what I love to do and still “pitch in” as a stay-at-home mom.

You are the reason I get to be with my son every day and I will forever be grateful of you all who follow my little piece of the internet. The support you show, whether it be a share, talking with friends, coming on a trip, and everything in between. I see you and can't thank you enough!

Ice fishing Muncho Lake, BC.

Growing up this lake was our backyard and you either hammered fish all day or you were skunked for days. The curling tournament had a few breaks in the day and I was jigging every chance I got. To say we grew up with the best backyard as kids is an understatement.

Muncho Lake you win again but I’ll be back again this summer for redemption!

A weekend for the books at @northernrockieslodge.

A weekend for the books at @northernrockieslodge. We curled, we had a scavenger hunt, we fished, and we LAUGHED. A huge thank you to the Fort Nelson Curling Club for hosting this event and making it a weekend full of adventure with some of my favourite people. The food was delicious, the weather was perfect, and laughing with my best friend until we fell asleep was exactly what I needed.

Mark your calendars! Wapiti Lake will be open for registration on April 10!

This is an amazing trail and it's been on my list to do again since the day I went in there. A fun fact about this trail. It was the first trip I ever did by myself on a guided tour, it was terrifying but now I encourage people to do the same because it was a trip of a lifetime and a turning point in my life. I even got hired for guiding after this trip for the @tumblerridgegeo which has led the trail to where I am today.

The trail in is 19 KM but good thing we have some extra days planned to make it an easy and fun couple of days exploring by foot for the trip in and out. These extra days will give us plenty of time to head up to the onion lake pass. I can't promise will make it to the Onion Lake as the trail itself is overgrown but we sure can have fun trying for the day and exploring around the lake. But to me, that's half the adventure. ⛰️

This area speaks for itself when it comes to scenic. We walk along the Wapiti River and get to see some mountain viewpoints along the way. August is the perfect time for huckleberries and seeing some wildflowers as well and hope these dates work for you!

We hope to see you on the trail this year and can't wait for this to be added to the lineup of events for the summer!

Hiking with dogs 101. - We would love any feedback on what would work best for you!

We will be hosting a 2-3 hour Zoom Safety Webinar through BARK that will help us breeze through first aid stuff and also focus a lot on backcountry safety discussions (ie. blue algae, tick-borne diseases, heat stroke, fire evacuations, etc.). This would be a quick way to get pet owners trained before the summer but would NOT be the Walks N’ Wags curriculum, rather it would be a supplemental safety webinar. The date and information will be out shortly for the Zoom webinar!

Now for the course. The closest we could get an instructor up this way would be September. I know it’s later in the season but would you still take the course in the fall or would you want it offered next spring? Well-behaved dogs will be welcome to join in on the class, with a max of 5 dogs total in each class. 10-Hour First-Aid Course (building a stretcher, jacket removing and carry, removing porcupine quills, proper dressings, and a ton more). 2 courses will be offered in Fort St. John and one in Fort Nelson.

She will be making her way from Revelstoke and driving the Alaska Highway on her travels up to Northern, BC. Locations are FSJ & Fort Nelson as of right now. Is there a community on the way you would like this course offered at and can gather 10+ people to join private message us? We can bring it to your community!

Whether you want to take them to a different location or keep it local. We have rentals available for you. The paddle boards are stored in a handy backpack making them reach more destinations!!

Bookings will be available from April 15 to October 15!

Pick up and drop off will be at Charlie Lake, BC. You will need the box of your truck or a roof rack to transport kayaks to any other locations besides Charlie Lake. Day & weekend rates are available!

Also, on the menu are a couple of pop-up weekends at Charlie Lake to try and give it a go!
