SUMMARY:Babcock Seeps - XSKI
DESCRIPTION:LE HUDETTE LAKES – CHETWYND AREA\, BC.A short push into the alpine — and then the world opens up. Guided Day Hike. All-skill introduction to alpine hiking. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n BOOK NOW\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n June 20\, 2026 - 8:30 AM \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Le Hudette Lakes \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n You don’t have to go far to feel like you’ve left everything behind. Le Hudette Lakes sits tucked into the alpine just outside Chetwynd — two stunning mountain lakes\, open ridgelines\, and a wilderness that most people drive right past without ever knowing it’s there. We’re changing that. This is a route\, not a groomed trail. It follows a seismic line up into the alpine\, gains 340m of elevation\, and rewards you with jaw-dropping views and the kind of quiet that only the backcountry can offer. Once you’re up there\, the doors open — ridge walks\, summit scrambles\, alpine tarns\, and all the wildflowers of a northern BC summer. This guided hike is being offered in partnership with the Chetwynd Outdoor Society\, the local organization behind preserving and expanding outdoor access in this incredible region. Your participation directly supports trails in the area. We’ll handle the navigation so you can soak in every second of it. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n TRIP AT A GLANCE \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n									  Date: June 20\, 2026Distance: 7.5 km returnApproximate Time: 4 hoursElevation Gain: 340mDifficulty: Moderate — suitable for hikers with a reasonable base fitness levelAccess: Forest Service Road (suitable for most vehicles in good road conditions)Location: Le Hudette Lakes\, ~82 km from Chetwynd\, BCPartner: Chetwynd Outdoor SocietyCommunity Contribution: $5 from every booking is donated to the Chetwynd Outdoor Society \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n INCLUDED \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n									  Experienced guide for the full dayRoute navigation on unmarked alpine terrainA summer day exploring the Chetwynd area\, BCBear spray mini courseProper fossil handlingPlant and ecosystem identification along the wayPeak Wyld Co. stickerShared photo album from the dayPre-trip communication with packing list and meeting detailsFirst aid kit\, emergency supplies\, and a satellite communication device carried by your guide$5 from every booking is donated to the Chetwynd Outdoor Society \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n FEE & CANCELLATION POLICY \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Fee & Booking $65.00 + GST. Cancellation Policy Because outdoor adventures involve real upfront costs\, day hike bookings are non-refundable. That said\, we want to work with you — if you need to cancel 5 or more days before the trip\, we’ll issue a full credit toward a future Peak Wyld Co. adventure. Cancellations made within 5 days of the event are not eligible for a credit. Spots are limited\, so the earlier you let us know\, the better. What if Peak Wyld Co. cancels? If we cancel due to unforeseen circumstances or an act of God\, your payment will be credited to a future date. If the trip doesn’t reach the minimum number of participants\, you’ll receive a full refund. We always do our best to reach our destination — but please be aware that weather and safety conditions in the backcountry can occasionally change our plans. That’s the nature of the north\, and we appreciate your understanding. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Frequently Asked Questions Who is this hike for? This hike is suited for people who are reasonably active and comfortable hiking uphill on uneven\, unmarked terrain. It is not a beginner trail — this is a route through the backcountry\, and some navigation experience is helpful\, though our guide will lead the way. Strong beginners are welcome with the understanding that this is rugged northern terrain. Is there signage on the trail? No. This is an unmarked route\, currently flagged with orange flagging tape. Our guide knows the terrain and will lead you safely. What’s the road like to get there? The access road is a decent dirt/gravel Forest Service Road suitable for most vehicles in normal conditions. We’ll send full driving directions and road notes before the event date. What if the weather is bad? Light rain won’t cancel us — northern BC is wet sometimes\, and that’s part of it. If the weather creates a genuine safety concern\, we will notify you as early as possible and work with you on rebooking or a refund. Is bear spray mandatory? No\, but it is always recommended that everyone carry bear spray.  								\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n WHAT TO PACK \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Pack 20–30L daypackRain cover for daypack (optional but recommended)Footwear & Clothing Sturdy\, broken-in hiking boots with ankle supportMoisture-wicking hiking shirt — long sleeves recommended for sun protectionHiking shorts or pantsWaterproof rain jacket and pantsWarm mid-layer (fleece or puffy)Extra socks\, gloves\, and a toque/buff — weather changes fast up hereGaiters (optional\, great for creek crossings)Change of clothes waiting for you in the carFood & Water 2–3L of water (hydration bladder + water bottle recommended)High-energy snacksPacked lunchSun & Bug Protection SunscreenSunglassesHatLip balmBug spraySafety & Essentials Headlamp + extra batteriesPersonal first aid kitEmergency shelter (emergency blanket)Matches and fire starterMulti-tool or knifeToilet paperBear sprayTrekking poles (optional but recommended\, especially on the descent)Your guide will carry the group’s core survival and safety equipment — but building the habit of carrying your own essentials is one of the best things you can do as a backcountry traveller.
