SUMMARY:Murray Canyon Overlook - Tumbler Ridge - Day Hike
DESCRIPTION:We welcome all ages to enjoy learning about bears on the trail and how to properly encounter them. 								\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n						\n					\n			\n						\n				\n									This bear aware course covers general bear facts including knowledge about their habitat and behaviour by focusing on how humans contribute to problem bears\, the course stresses both prevention and outlines best survival in the event of a bear encounter or attack. Bear spray\, bangers\, and flares will be demonstrated. 								\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n						\n					\n			\n						\n				\n																														\n				\n					\n		\n					\n		\n				\n						\n					\n			\n						\n				\n									April 21\, 2024 – 9AM – 11AM.  \nLocation: TO BE ANNOUNCED IN FORT ST. The average lifespan of a bear is 20-25 years.  2. Mothers stay with their cubs for up to 3 years. As a result of staying with their young so long they normally reproduce every 3-5 years.  3. Bears can hibernate anywhere from 4-7 months.  4. Grizzly bears almost dig a new den every year. Moving up to a ton of materials to make their home perfect for the winter conditions. This process can take more than a week to build.  5.
