SUMMARY:Moose Lake\, Toad River Tour
DESCRIPTION:Wyld — 3-Day Backcountry Traverse · July 31–Aug 2\, 2026\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n Wyld\n \n Itinerary\n Details\n Gallery\n FAQ\n Book Now\n \n\n \n\n\n \n \n \n Wyld Backcountry  ·  Canadian Rockies  ·  July 31 – August 2\, 2026 \n Go Wyldin the Range\n A 3-day guided backcountry traverse through alpine meadows\, ancient forests\, glacial valleys — and a legendary tunnel through the mountain itself. \n \n Reserve Your Spot\n \n \n \n Scroll\n\n \n\n\n \n 22km\n Total Distance\n \n \n 3\n Days Wyld\n \n \n 1\n Mountain Tunnel\n \n \n 8\n Max Group Size\n \n\n \n\n\n The Wyld Experience \n Where the trail ends\,the Wyld begins\n \n \n For three days you'll carry everything you need into one of the most spectacular corners of the Canadian Rockies — a landscape of cathedral peaks\, wildflower-smothered ridgelines\, and glacial streams so clear you can count every stone on the bottom. \n The Wyld route threads through old-growth forest\, climbs above treeline to a secret tunnel carved through solid rock by millennia of frost and water\, then descends through valley meadows blazing with summer colour. Small groups\, no crowds. Just the mountains and the people beside you. \n \n \n 🚗\n \n Trailhead Vehicle Info\n We encourage everyone to carpool and arrive with as few vehicles as possible — the less at the trailhead\, the better. Sara will be able to take a few participants from the Visitor Centre\, so reach out ahead of time to coordinate. Snowfencing is available from the Visitor Centre for those leaving vehicles there.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n\n\n Wyld Itinerary \n Three Days. Three Worlds.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Day 01\n Friday\, July 31\n Into the Forest\n We meet at the Visitor Centre for check-in\, bear spray orientation\, and a shuttle to the trailhead. From there we push into old-growth subalpine forest — ferns brushing our knees\, light filtering through canopies of spruce and fir. Day one is about finding your Wyld rhythm: weight on your back\, the smell of damp moss\, elevation rising steadily around you. Camp tonight beside a rushing glacial stream. \n \n 📍 7 km\n ↑ +620 m\n ⏱ 3–4 hrs\n \n 📷 Court Jacobs @court_the_original\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Day 02\n Saturday\, August 1\n The Tunnel Climb\n The centrepiece of the Wyld traverse. A sustained climb through open alpine pushes you higher until the mountain reveals its secret: a natural tunnel worn through solid rock\, its arched opening framing an impossible panorama of snow-patched summits and deep green valleys below. \n "Step through the tunnel and the whole range opens up in front of you. One of those moments you don't forget."\n After the summit ridge\, descend into the next valley. Tonight's camp sits under a sky with no light pollution for 100 kilometres in any direction. \n \n 📍 9 km\n ↑ +860 m\n ⏱ 6–7 hrs\n \n 📷 Antonio Sunción @AntonioSunción\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Day 03\n Sunday\, August 2\n The Trek Home\n The final day carries you back through the heart of it all. A morning traverse of wildflower-covered ridgelines — the whole three-day route spread out behind you in one sweeping glance. Rocky meadows give way to subalpine switchbacks\, then forest\, then the shuttle back to the Visitor Centre. \n The mountains will look the same as when you left. You won't be. That's Wyld. \n \n 📍 6 km\n ↓ –1\,480 m\n ⏱ 4–5 hrs\n \n 📷 Court Jacobs @court_the_original\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Book Now — Register Here\n \n \n\n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Photography by Court Jacobs @court_the_original  ·  Antonio Sunción @AntonioSunción \n\n \n\n\n Trip Details \n Everything you needto go Wyld\n \n \n \n Trip Specs\n \n DatesJuly 31 – August 2\, 2026\n Duration3 Days / 2 Nights\n Total Distance~22 km\n Day 17 km · +620 m · 3–4 hrs\n Day 29 km · +860 m · 6–7 hrs\n Day 36 km · –1\,480 m · 4–5 hrs\n DifficultyModerate / Challenging\n Max Group Size8 participants\n Min Age18 years\n \n \n \n \n What's Included\n \n Wyld-certified expert guide throughout\n Bear spray mini-course at the Visitor Centre\n Carpooling encouraged — Sara can take a few participants from the Visitor Centre\n Snowfencing available at the Visitor Centre for parked vehicles\n All backcountry permits\n Guide carries full first aid kit\, emergency supplies & communication device\n Water filter for backcountry refills\n Pre-trip gear consultation\n $5 per booking donated to Wolverine Nordic & Mountain Society\n Peak Wyld Co. sticker — a small marker of something that felt anything but small\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Fitness & Experience\n \n Fitness levelModerate–High\n Prior backpacking exp.Recommended\n Pack weight (typical)14–18 kg\n TerrainTrail\, Scree\, Alpine\, Rock Tunnel\n \n \n \n \n Pricing & Payment\n \n Per person$275 CAD + GST\n Non-refundable deposit$150 CAD at booking\n Balance dueJuly 1\, 2026\n Bookings after July 1Full payment required\n Pay by credit cardBook Now ↗\n Pay by e-transferjocelyn@peakwyldco.ca\n \n \n \n \n Cancellation Policy\n \n DepositNon-refundable\n Cancel 5+ days beforeFull refund of balance\n Cancel 0–5 days beforeNo refund on balance\n Bookings after July 1Full payment\, no refund\n Trip cancelled by WyldCredit to future date\n Min. participants not metFull refund incl. deposit\n \n \n \n \n Meeting Point\n \n LocationTumbler Ridge Visitor Centre\n Address265 Southgate St\, Tumbler Ridge BC\n Check-in9:00 AM\, July 31\n Shuttle departs9:30 AM\n Estimated return~3:00 PM\, August 2\n \n \n \n \n\n \n\n\n Frequently Asked Questions \n Got questions? We've got answers.\n \n \n \n Where do we meet?\n At the Tumbler Ridge Visitor Centre at 9:00 AM on July 31st. If the trip is cancelled due to acts of God or safety concerns\, your payment will be credited to a future date. If minimum participants aren't met\, you'll receive a full refund including your deposit.\n \n \n \n Where can I go to the bathroom in the backcountry?\n Facilities are available at the Visitor Centre before departure. Wyld is not liable for damages while driving or parked.
