Outdoor Education

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

A day out in the wild Forget screens. Forget schedules. Wyld Explorers Camp is one full day of real outdoor skill-building for kids 8–10, right on the trails of Fort St. John. No simulations, no worksheets — just dirt under the nails and skills that stick.

CAMP STATS

Skills learned — knots, plant ID, survival skills, outdoor education, first aid, hiking, crafts & mapping.

9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Real skills. Real trails.

🪢 Knot Tying: The knots every adventurer needs in their back pocket — bowlines, hitches, and the confidence to tie them fast.

🌿 Plant Identification: What’s edible, what’s medicine, what’s plain cool — kids learn to read the forest like a map.

🩹 First Aid Basics: The kind of know-how that turns a scraped knee into a non-event. Confidence starts here.

🥾 Trail Hiking: Boots on the ground, guides leading the way — exploring Fort St. John’s best local trails.

🗺️ Mapping Skills: Compass in hand, map unfolded — navigation skills for life, not just for camp.

🎨 Nature Crafts: A little mess, a lot of imagination — something to take home and brag about.

$75/Per child.

Is my kid too young or too old for this camp? This camp is built for ages 8–10. Must be turning 8 this year.

What if it rains? We’re out there rain or shine. Pack for the weather, and expect a little mud — that’s half the fun. Camp only gets rescheduled for genuinely unsafe conditions.

Do you provide lunch and snacks? Nope — pack enough food and water to fuel a full day outside. See the “What to Pack” list for everything else.

What’s the guide-to-kid ratio? Our guides are experienced and trained for outdoor youth programming, keeping groups small enough that every kid gets hands-on time with every skill.

Does my child need any experience? None at all. Every skill — knots, first aid, plant ID, mapping — starts from scratch. Kids just need curiosity and a sense of adventure.

What if a date is full? July 8 is full, but Aug 5, 12, 19, and 26 still have spots open. Reach out and we’ll add you to the list in case a spot frees up.

What time is pick up and drop off? A waiver will have to be signed on who picks up your kid. Camp runs 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Fish Creek Entrance Parking Lot.

What’s your cancellation policy? Spots are non-refundable but fully creditable toward a future camp date, as long as you let us know at least 5 days before your session.

Are bathrooms available? Yes — a bathroom is available on site all day.

How do I register? Hit “BOOK NOW” above, pick your date, and you’re in. TWO DATES HAVE BEEN ADDED AUG. 12 + 26.
