Our backpacking ski trip was an incredible success

Our backpacking ski trip was an incredible success! We may have taken a few tumbles, but they came with plenty of laughter. Hot meals cooked on the stove, sleeping while watching the stars through the window with the coziness of a heated cabin, and we even had visitors join us around the fire. The cabin is truly a fantastic spot for some winter adventure.

A big thank you to the amazing volunteers who make every visit unforgettable!

Looking forward to seeing you next weekend, Tumbler, for our journey into the seeps!

Today, we’re gearing up for our XSKI adventure to Lost Haven Cabin, tucked away in the breathtaking wilderness of Tumbler Ridge, BC. This marks a milestone for us—it’s our very first winter camping event where we ski to our cabin stay!

Shoutout to the trusted gear that makes winter travel a breeze:
• @jetboil for that essential quick coffee fix
• @klymit for the cozy air mattress
• @thermarest for the egg-crate foam that keeps the heat where it belongs
• @mysteryranch for the bag that’s been through it all with me
• @seatosummit for keeping everything dry with their dependable dry bags

We’re kicking off the 2025 season with a thrilling XSKI-backpacking hybrid, and we couldn’t be more excited!

How is my baby almost 4? I blinked, and here we are.

Three is a whirlwind—wyld, wonderful, and full of surprises. It’s the age where they transform into your little best friend, full of curiosity and endless questions like “Why?” Their wonder about the world makes the simplest moments magical but can annoy and frustrate you just as quick.

Quiet days are replaced by adventures—building, exploring, imagining—and everything feels like it’s moving at lightning speed. The meltdowns? Oh, they’re intense. Big little feelings bursting out of a tiny body. But then there’s the softness of their voice, their giggles, and the way they say your name, reminding you just how special this time is. But can take you by surprise with what they say just as quick. 🫣

Three is a gift, a season of making memories that you’ll hold onto forever. These moments—the hugs, the belly laughs, the messy creativity—are the ones that etch themselves into your heart. And now, almost 4? It’s a bittersweet reminder of how quickly it all goes.

Preschool teachers have already heard some stories from this Wyld little man 🎣. Apparently, he’s ready to trade crayons and circle time for rods and reels. Jeremy and I couldn’t stop laughing when we realized the day has come when he actually asked us to skip school to go fishing… and let’s be honest, neither of us are strong enough to say no! So fishing we went.
