📍 Bear Mountain Nordic Ski Trails Dawson Creek, BC 📍 Bear Mountain Nordic Ski Trails
Dawson Creek, BC

Looking back on last year, this day stands out as such a good one.

We played tourist and explored the Bear Mountain Nordic Ski Trails in Dawson Creek for the first time, and it turned into a full-on adventure. There was no shortage of laughter as we tackled some incredibly steep hills and logged over 10 kilometres of trails. It felt like we truly saw the entire hill—everything from perfect skiing conditions to sections that kept us very humble.

The warm-up shacks scattered throughout the trail system were such a cozy bonus, and we made a point of stopping at a couple along the way. After skiing, we leaned fully into the day. We explored the town—popping into local shops, stopping at Post & Row, visiting the art gallery, and naturally finishing things off with Peevy Mart.

A day out with the girls, discovering new gems in our own backyard, ended up being one of my favourite memories from the year. Dawson Creek really showed up, and it reminded me how much I love exploring the Peace Region—especially when it involves a sport I love.

Our route that day: Wolf, Bissette, Wolverine, Bear, Grizzly, and finishing with Lynx back to the vehicles.

The north is filled with amazing ski trails, we highly recommend adding Dawson Creek to your list to bring cross-country skis to!

Seven of us adventured into the Lost Haven Cabin t Seven of us adventured into the Lost Haven Cabin this weekend, and it was exactly what my soul needed.

We snowshoed through quiet trees, played games, laughed until our cheeks hurt, and shared stories by candlelight. Coyotes sang us to sleep along the Murray River, and Bergeron Cliffs stood watch over us all weekend—steady, grounding, and wild.

January surprised us in the best way. We never dipped into negative temperatures, and the fire kept the cabin perfectly cozy. So cozy, in fact, that we were walking outside in hoodies and rain jackets, steam rising into the winter air. A small gift, but one that made everything feel lighter and easier.

Doing this seven and a half months pregnant felt like the most unexpected and perfect start to the new year. The pack was tight, I wore Jeremy’s gear, and I slept on a cabin floor with a sleeping bag—but none of that mattered. It was a reminder of what women are capable of when they listen to their bodies, lean on each other, and choose adventure anyway.

This weekend filled a cup I didn’t even realize was empty. From breaking trail together to always having a hand offered before one was asked for, the power of women in the wilderness is something you feel deep in your bones.

I’m reminded again why this lifestyle matters so much. These weekends—the cold, the laughter, the effort, the connection—this is what it’s all about. Thank you to yet another group I get to call friends, and to memories made that will last forever. If this is how 2026 is beginning, I can already tell it’s going to be something truly special.

Grab your skis next weekend and join us for a tour Grab your skis next weekend and join us for a tour into Babcock Seeps ❄️⛷️

A huge thank you to our local explorers for breaking trail—last year we didn’t have the snow to make this tour happen, and this year we’re stoked for the creek skiing conditions shaping up. Fresh tracks, a smooth glide through the creek valley, and a well-earned pit stop at the seeps to wrap up the journey.

Tomorrow we head out for our first tour of the new Tomorrow we head out for our first tour of the new year — 7 months pregnant and all.

A good group of us is making our way to the cabin for a cozy overnight stay. Bags are packed, we’re suiting up for the trail in, catered food is ready, card games are planned, and the winter retreat we’ve all been waiting for is finally here.

Winter camping means packing more and prepping more, but that’s half the fun. I’m especially grateful the weather has shifted for us — last time we skied in it was -30, so these positive temperatures are going to feel like a gift.

Cheers to a weekend of making memories, slowing down, and staying cozy while the fire crackles. 🔥❄️

We found the perfect cabin over the holidays in on We found the perfect cabin over the holidays in one of our favourite places. With temperatures sitting around -30 and dipping as low as -44 (without windchill), there was really only one thing to do—pack up and head for a winter drive to Toad River, deep in the Northern Rockies.

We gathered our best friend and her kid and headed for the hills.

Inside, we settled into slow, cozy days filled with card games and board games. The cabin even has WiFi, which made a movie night with the boys extra special. The hospitality here is truly unbelievable—views out of every window, beds that give you the best sleep, and three bedrooms (two with little sofas if you need extra space).

The full kitchen had everything we needed. We just packed food and felt right at home. Cooking dinner on a six-burner propane stove felt like such a comfort—warm meals, good company, and nowhere else to be.

This is the perfect family-friendly rental: all the comforts of home, tucked mountainside. We even ran into our dear friend at Toad, who invited us to fireworks under the full moon—and wow, did they ever light up the sky.

This trip reset me in every way. Even though we only lasted about 30 minutes outside at a time, it was still worth it—frozen lashes, crisp mountain air, and that deep-cold breath that reminds you you’re alive.

This cabin is available for rent, and she’s a dear friend of mine. I can’t wait to help show off her little piece of heaven.

If you’re looking to book a cabin in Toad River, I highly recommend this little oasis.

We made our way to Toad River with my best friend We made our way to Toad River with my best friend and her boy along for the drive too—someone who once joined me on Wild Women. As we passed a mountain we flew over during that unforgettable trip, she reminded me just how impactful that experience was for her.

This place will always be my favourite backyard, not just because of the landscapes, but because of how deeply it resonates with everyone who comes here in their own way.

We settled into the cutest family-friendly cabin, available for rent, and we can’t wait to share the highlights of this northern adventure with you.

Happy New Year from my little (and growing) family Happy New Year from my little (and growing) family to yours.

We are a family-run business through and through, and I truly wouldn’t be able to do what we do without these two by my side. How neat is it that this year also marks 10 years together with this hunk of mine 🥹—a decade of building a life, a growing family, a business, and a whole lot of memories. With our little girl joining us soon, our world—and our family—will feel complete. 2026 is shaping up to be one of our very best years yet.

This business gives me the kind of “mom time” that cures everything, while still allowing me to include my family in the adventures whenever I can. This year, we have some big things coming, and we can’t wait to explore what’s ahead.

The mountains are always calling my family, and I hope they call yours too.

12 chapters. 365 chances. A year to build, grow, and become in every way possible. As we reflect on our year we can't wait to show you what our year consisted of from the highs to the lows.

We wish you all the very best in the New Year and hope to see you out on the trails. 🫶
Felt hungry, so I ate a tank of gas and headed nor Felt hungry, so I ate a tank of gas and headed north.

There’s something about the road that you miss when you’re away. A good audiobook humming through the speakers, my passenger prince in the back seat, happy just to be along for the ride.

One thing I love about living out of town is how good Wylder is in the car. Forty-five minutes to town, forty-five minutes home—an hour and a half round trip is just normal life for us. Stretch it into a couple more hours and it’s still easy. He was built for the road.

There’s something about an open highway leading to one of our favourite places that just feels like home.

And the comfort of your parents’ house never fails. Familiar walls, warm meals, and a kid who gets to roam all day with his cousins. We’re calling this our extended holiday season—and we’re soaking it in.

Next stop: farther up the Alaska Highway this week, chasing those famous waffle fries at Toad River and our favourite kid friendly trails. Some traditions are worth the miles.
