Heading North for Hockey & Adventure

Soon, I’ll be crossing the border to our northern neighbors for a big one—an Indigenous hockey tournament hosted by the Yukon First Nation Hockey Association. With over 60 teams, it’s going to be an incredible experience, getting to hit the ice with old teammates and new ones.

The last time I was in the Yukon, I was 18, heading up the Dempster Highway to Eagle Plains, piloting a shack delivery. Back then, I had a flip phone and no clue how lucky I was to experience that stretch of highway. This time, I plan to take it all in—playing tourist when I can. A soak in the hot springs, checking out the Sign Post Forest in Watson Lake, and whatever else time allows. Plus, I get to road trip and stay with one of my oldest best friends.

Between games, I’m excited to explore Whitehorse—the “big city” of the North. Any must-visit restaurants, viewpoints, or hidden gems? I’ve already heard their Canadian Tire is next level, so that’s on the list!

I’m grateful for the women who have paved the way in this industry and for the incredible ones I’ve had the privilege of walking the trails with—over 500 and counting! We’ve shared stories, adventures, and experiences that few will ever see.

One of the greatest highlights of my life and career is inspiring women to believe in themselves. To show them that they are more than capable of reaching those mountaintops—because it really is just one step at a time.

I can’t wait to see who I meet in the next ten years, the friendships I’ll build, and the adventures we’ll share. Here’s to all the strong women out there—pushing boundaries, chasing dreams, and inspiring others along the way.

It’s a realm of no people, no roads, and a commitment to protect this pristine environment for eternity. In this untouched wilderness, life thrives in harmony. Animals rely on one another for survival, and we are merely privileged observers of this natural world. A floatplane tour from Wokkpash Lake to Muncho Lake offers a breathtaking aerial journey over the rugged, untamed beauty of the Northern Rockies.

As the plane lifts off from the pristine waters of Wokkpash Lake, you’ll immediately gain a new perspective on the dramatic landscape below. The jagged limestone peaks of the Wokkpash Valley, carved by glaciers and time, stretch out beneath you, revealing deep canyons, winding rivers, and alpine meadows dotted with wildflowers. The remnants of ancient geological upheaval are on full display, with striking rock formations and hidden valleys untouched by roads or development.

Heading northwest, the flight follows the winding course of the Wokkpash and Toad Rivers, where you might spot mountain goats perched on rocky ledges or caribou traversing high alpine ridges.
