Wren’s first sled ride at 1 month old. 🤍 For thos Wren’s first sled ride at 1 month old. 🤍

For those of you who are new here—hi, it’s me, Jocelyn. Welcome to Peak Wyld.

This space is where we balance it all… adventure, business, tourism, and family. And we truly mean balance. Because out here, none of it works without the other.

We run adventure tours across Northern BC—from Smithers to Liard River Hot Springs—creating experiences for every kind of adventurer. We host kids’ survival camps, offer rentals, and do everything we can to advocate for this wild, beautiful part of the province we call home.

But behind all of that… I’m also a mom. I’ve got a 5-year-old, Wylder, and now our newest little wild one, Wren. We’re raising them the same way we’ve built this business—outside, hands-on, and grounded in the kind of life that teaches you something real.

I grew up in Fort Nelson, but I’ve traveled BC my whole life—from one end to the other—chasing hockey schools and adventure. I lived from the bottom of the province to the very top for hockey… and now I get to do it all over again, this time guiding adventurers through the same places that shaped me.

For the last 10 years, we’ve built this business—and it’s changed me, but also grounded me deeper into my roots. I started this at a very young age, and now I get to live it through every era of life… growing a company while growing a family right alongside it.

We’ve lived off-grid for the last 10 years, building a life out here. It’s not always easy—but it’s always worth it.

We hunt, we fish, we explore… because the outdoors isn’t just something we do—it’s who we are.

And Peak Wyld is our way of sharing that with you.

We’re so grateful for every bit of support that’s helped us grow this business while growing our family right alongside it. We’ve got an incredible crew lined up this year, and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been building on the ground.

This is us. This is Peak Wyld. 🤍

7 am. Rain hammering the tarp. Trail flooded. Mora 7 am. Rain hammering the tarp. Trail flooded. Morale… let’s call it character-building. Camp just moved. I've seen rain move this valley year after year.

Then a solo figure emerges through the trees — soaked, pack loaded, trekking poles working overtime. He’d been doing the Wokkpash alone and got swallowed by the same storm we did. Crossed a river before he found us and admitted right away — he shouldn’t have.

He rounded the corner to find a camp full of women who had absolutely not stopped functioning.

Fire going. Coffee on. Hot packs being passed around like currency.

Without missing a beat, a mug got handed his way, a dry spot opened up under the tarp, and just like that — he was one of us.

Sometimes the mountains send you exactly who you need. And sometimes a stranger showing up soaking wet at dawn is the best thing that happens on a trip. ☕🔥

This is what it means to move through the wilderness with people who show up for each other — even the ones they just met.

Lady power is REAL and these women prove it every Lady power is REAL and these women prove it every single day on the water. 🌊

Our Smithers river rafting partners know these rivers like the back of their hands — and we couldn’t be more honoured to call them our people. Anissa first came out on a Wild Women retreat, and now? She and her team are part of the Peak Wyld family. That’s the magic of what happens when like-minded women find each other in the wyld.

This summer, these ladies are taking you out on the water — and trust us, you’re in the best hands.

AND — a very exciting giveaway is coming your way. An ultimate weekend package in Smithers, BC is dropping soon. Follow along and get ready to enter. 👀

Wyld Explorers is BACK for 2026. 🌿 Last summer — Wyld Explorers is BACK for 2026. 🌿

Last summer — plant ID, survival skills, map & compass. Kids in the wild doing real things. And honestly? It was one of my favourite parts of the entire season.

I’m deep in the kid era right now and I cannot WAIT for these events.

This year we’re changing up the locations for some days, adding a hike day, bringing in some special guests, and we want to make it even better than before.

But we need YOUR input ⬇️

🌲 What would you love to see your kids learning outside?
📍 Full days or half days — what works for your family?
👥 We’re also looking for two people to join our team for these events!
What age group are you looking for?

Drop your ideas in the comments, send us a DM, or tag a mama who needs to hear this.

Let’s get kids outside this summer. 🏔️

You can be a mom and build something that matters. You can be a mom and build something that matters. Both. At the same time.

Am I behind on emails? Yes. Am I finding the time when I can? Also yes.

I’m in it — the newborn fog, the late nights, the moments where I don’t know which role needs me more. And I’m also building a summer of guiding, a season of memories, a business that lights me on fire.

We’re raising these kids the way we were raised — outside, wild, unhurried. The way it’s supposed to feel.

Some days I’m emotionally drained and emotionally fired up in the same breath. And I’ve stopped pretending that’s a contradiction. It’s just what it looks like when you’re building two beautiful things at once.

Both can exist. Both do exist.

When you love what you do, you find a way. You answer the email at midnight. You strap the baby on and lace up your boots. You show your kids, without saying a word, what it looks like to go after something real.

This isn’t hustle culture. This is just love — for your family and for your work — refusing to let either one go.
BIG news, and we are not keeping it to ourselves. BIG news, and we are not keeping it to ourselves. 🙌

Some people just get it — and the moment we connected with Sara Laing, we knew she was one of those people.

Sara is a certified IGA 4-Season Professional Hiking Guide and ACMG Hiking Guide, freshly rooted in Tumbler Ridge, BC after years of guiding in the Canadian Rockies. She doesn’t just lead hikes — she opens people’s eyes to the world beneath their boots and above the treeline. Wildflowers, geology, ecosystems, the quiet stories the land tells if you slow down enough to listen. She’s the kind of guide who turns a ridge walk into a full-on education — all woven into an experience that sticks with you long after your boots are off.
And honestly? That mirrors everything Peak Wyld Co. was built on.

We both believe that wild places deserve to be felt deeply — not just passed through. We both know that confidence in the outdoors is something that’s built, not given. And we both get a little giddy thinking about what’s possible right here in our own backyard. 🌿

Peak Wyld Co. has always been about connection — to the land, to yourself, to this incredible corner of the world we call home. Sara lives that, breathes that, and we cannot wait to build something truly special together.

Tumbler Ridge, your adventures just levelled up. 🏔️⚡
Welcome to the crew, Sara. Let’s go make some magic. 🤍
